  1. 1. The values driven life - easier said than done. How cognitive neuroscience can assist in living authentically. Short version: Erik Fernholm is an award winning key-note speaker and talks about research on topics such as Happiness Studies, Values and Motivation. Fernholm talk will be on the limitations of the conscious mind and how the non-conscious mind makes most of our decisions. How do we lead ourselves if we can't control ourselves? Drawing on the findings from Kahneman, Haidt and Fredricksson a convincing hypothesis of the important role of values, and how they could lead us to a more sustainable and well lived lives.

  10. 10. “Julie and Mark are sister and brother. They are traveling together in France on summer vacation from college. One night they are staying alone in a cabin near the beach. They decide that it would be interesting and fun if they tried making love. At the very least, it would be a new experience for each of them. Julie is already taking birth control pills, but Mark uses a condom, too, just to be safe. They both enjoy making love, but decide not to do it again. They keep that night as a special secret, which makes them feel even closer to each other.” (The Happiness Hypothesis: Finding Modern Truth in Ancient Wisdom. Prof. Jonathan Haidt. Ch. The Divided Self p. 21)
