  2. 2. Name: Joe AnyoneAge: 35 years oldEducation: Bachelor of Science in ArchitectureReason for e-Learning classes: to obtainan endorsement in solar conductors
  3. 3. Joe wants the following from his instructor: To use technology – Joe works best with interactive and networked media, and lessons presented in a non-linear, multi- sensory fashion. This way, he can access lessons when he needs them, and challenge his senses with new material.
  4. 4.  To use known data – Joe wantsthe facts. He does not wantinformation given to him that ishearsay or relayed in uselessactivities. He is very biased towardsexperimental acts, and e-learning is very “downto the level”.
  5. 5.  Joe discovered that he enjoys e-learning because he knows how to multi-task, and could focus on several lesson points at one time. He also has a slower reading speed, lower level of reading accuracy and shorter attention span. However, he found that the self-paced environment of e-learning enabled him to re-trace his steps if needed.
  6. 6.  He is also easily distracted, anddoes not have a natural ability toreflect on what he has learned. However, with his preference forpictures and videos, whether ornot they are the highest of quality,he can re-direct himself when lookingat material, and use reflection questionsto help him process in e-Learning.
  7. 7.  Plus, his techno savvy sidemakes it easy for him to interactwith the lessons, and his ability toscan multiple documents andglean information make himadept at processing and learningwith interrupted information flow. He appreciates structure, so he creates it.
  8. 8.  E-learning provides an eclecticroom of learners, and theopportunity to interact with oneanother in entertaining andexciting ways. Most peersare from all walks of life. Joe appreciatesall different races and cultures, and varyingopinions and ideas, which make e-learningfor him ideal.
