This is my presentation about the famous female pilot Amelia Earhart. It includes information about her birth, why was she famous and what was her impact in the 1920s.

  2. 2. Information about her birth Amelia Earhart was born on July 24 of 1897. She was born in Atchison, Kansas at the house of a maternal grandfather who was a farmer. Her mother was Amelia Otis and her father was Edwin Earhart. She was the second child of their marriage.
  3. 3. Why is she famous? Amelia was a famous aviation pioneer at the 1920s. She is well-known for being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1928 she received a call being invited to be the first woman passenger to cross the Atlantic. On June 17, she flew on a plane to begin her adventure.
  4. 4. Early Career In 1920, Amelia Earhart took a fly which change her life. It was only of about 10 minutes but when she got off the plane, she knew she had to learn to fly. That’s why, she earned enough money to take flying lessons. Since that moment, she had a lot of successful flights. Until, in 1937 she disappeared during her flight through the Atlantic Ocean.
  5. 5. What is her impact in the 1920s? Amelia Earhart is known for trespassing the limits set for women. She fight for the recognition of his achievements and successes in a world dominated by men. she was part of an organization of female pilots called “The Ninety-Nines” and she was selected to be its president. The purpose of this organisation was to promote the advance of women in aviation. Amelia Earhart was an excellent example for all women to show them that everything is possible and how women can have an important role in society too. She score international records and gain the affection of the population. Most women felt inspired by her because of all the objectives she achive despite the fact it was not easy to became an important person for the country while being a women.
  6. 6. Last flight and disappearance Amelia Earhart’s last flight was on 1928. The flight consisted on crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Amelia Earhart was the first women who solo cross this ocean. During this flight, she disappeared. The official search ended on July 18th. However there are many theories that try to explain how this could have happened
