  10. Communication is about using of that power.
  11. ? So why don’t organisations take every chance they get to improve communcation and information sharing?
  12. … instead of locking valuable information in a vault somewhere...
  13. … reasoning that the information is ”safe” there.
  14. Well, it is safe from being communicated .
  15. Safe from being used .
  16. Safe from generating value .
  17. ? It that really such a wise idea?
  18. Well…no.
  19. So why do they do it?
  20. Because people are afraid of what will happen [to themselves and their positions] when others get access to the information they have access to.
  21. Afraid of the distribution of power. [remember: information is power]
  22. Haven’t we seen this before?
  23. New innovations in communications have met resistance many times in human history.

  27. Radio
  28. Television
  29. And more recently…
  31. Steps towards democratization of communication have always been seen as dangerous by those who are in power.
  32. Still…
  33. … it is key to maximize the value of information .
