OER Regional Agenda for
South-Mediterranean
Universities
It is a set of long-term actions for OER adoption
in South-Mediterranean Universities.
The aim is to become the starting point for the
development of both policies and roadmaps at
institutional level, and it will inform the training
of trainers component of the OpenMed project.

universities in the South-Mediterranean region.
After having taken this course, learners will be able to:
• Understand the potential advantages of adopting OER
and open education approaches in different contexts
• Understand how content released under different kinds
of open licenses can be reused and apply open licenses
to your content
• Search for, reuse and remix OER
• Understand what MOOCs are and how to produce

Recommendations
Based on our work within OpenMed, we call for institutional
leaders to strategically prioritise Open Education to further
develop the education system in the South-Mediterranean.
We recommend that HE Institutions, within their capacities:
1. Support democratic and diverse access to knowledge
2. Build Capacities in Open Education
3. Instill a Culture of Openness, Reward Open Education
4. Direct human capitals and economic resources
towards Open Education initiatives
