USEC Recruit Tutorial

  2. 2.  Welcome to the Unity Security Force (USEC). We have prepared this short presentation to guide our new recruits through the recruitment process and begin their virtual career in USEC. If you are having trouble viewing this presentation, or any of its content, a PDF version is available from our website:  http://www.usecforce.com
  3. 3.  To be a member of USEC, you need to own at least one of our main gaming platforms. They are:  Air Force: Flight Simulator X (Acceleration not required, but recommended)  Land Force: Armed Assault (ArmA) II Combined Operations required)
  4. 4.  The first step of your recruitment process is to apply on our website.
  5. 5.  You will need to choose a callsign. This goes between your first name and last name on your profile. Firstname “Callsign” Lastname Please try to choose a callsign that isn’t already used. Please also enter your name with Capitals at the beginning
  6. 6.  Great! You have now enrolled on the USEC website. You will have just received an email with an activation link. Click this link to activate your application. You will now receive a second email with a member ID and a generated password.
  7. 7.  It is important that you keep your member ID, as this is the only method of logging into the USEC website. Click login and use this ID and password to make your first login!
  8. 8.  As outlined in the Second Email you received earlier, you have 14 days to complete the Basic Recruit Exam. This exam covers general knowledge about USEC organisation and procedure. You can find all the answers in the USEC Standing Orders (SOs) and on the USEC website.
  9. 9.  To find the exam and the USEC SO’s:  Login to usecforce.com  Click Training  See image below
  10. 10.  Once you have read the instructions, begin the exam. All questions are multiple choice. Select what you believe to be the most correct answer and hit next. You will NOT get an opportunity to change your answer after you hit next. If you get a question incorrect, you will not be notified, but you can see your percentage at the end of the exam.
  11. 11.  Well done! Now that you have passed this exam, you have been promoted to the rank of Recruit, and have received your first ribbon! Click “My Profile” to view.
  12. 12.  Your application should be processed within 24 hours of you registering. If it is accepted, you will be notified by email, and promoted to the rank of Private.
  13. 13.  Your next step is to register yourself on our USEC Forum Board. You can find the forum board by clicking the link on our website, or by visiting: http://www.usecforce.com/forums/
  14. 14.  Complete your registration on the forum boards. Important: Make sure that the email address you use on the forums matches the one you used to register on the website. Your forum Username should also reflect your name on the USEC website. E.G: Joseph Bloggs (with appropriate capitals)
  15. 15.  Once registered, you should receive an activation email. Use the link to activate your account, then feel free to look through our forums. We use our forums a lot for information, operations, and much more, so it is important that you are comfortable with using the forums to remain active.
  16. 16.  Introduce yourself in the Welcomes and Farewells section. You will find we are very welcoming!

  18. 18.  After initial processing, all new recruits are posted to the Unity Training Academy (UTA). From there, you are either posted into the Unity Flight Academy (UFA), or the Unity Combat Academy (UCA)

  20. 20.  Flying with USEC in the Air Force has 3 main categories:  Offline  Online  Operational
  21. 21.  Flying Offline:  To verify the validity of a Pilot Report, it is a requirement that all USEC members have FSHost installed. This can be downloaded from http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fsho st/  Ask your CO for the FSHost connection details when you require them.
  22. 22.  Flying Offline:  You will also be required to download and install FSRecorder, however you do not need to use this for every flight (more will be covered shortly).  You can download FSRecorder from http://www.fs-recorder.net/
  23. 23.  Flying Online  USEC is partnered with the Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network (VATSIM).  As of October 2012, flying on the VATSIM network is no longer mandatory.  However, due to USEC holding a VSOA status, any member flying online must hold specific qualifications before flying solo online (more will be covered on VATSIM later).
  24. 24.  YOUR GOAL:  The Aviator Badge
  25. 25.  The Aviator Badge  As of December 2012, the requirements for the Aviator Badge consist of completing 2 basic checkrides and being signed off by a qualified instructor.  The Aviator Badge signifies a fully qualified pilot within USEC, and allows a Pilot to be entirely qualified to complete their duties offline.
  26. 26.  As well as these requirements, you are also required to complete a few examinations. Similarly to the Basic Recruit Exam, you can find these exams on the Training Page.

  29. 29.  As of December 2012, the requirements to be awarded the Special Aviator Badge are to complete all VATSIM checkrides V-01 through to I-05. The Special Aviator Badge signifies a pilot that is fully qualified to complete their duties both on and offline.

  33. 33.  The Infantryman Badge  To be awarded this qualification, members must satisfactorally complete all required modules of training on the USEC Revolutions Training Facility
  34. 34.  The Infantryman Badge  Training is on a modular system as directed by the Commander Land Force, and is completed online.  Practical assessments include marksmanship, radio communication and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
