To describe drivers social and economical
to

their
jobs.
Variable 1: Social Condition
Results
It appears that most drivers
both formal and non formal
heads of their homes and
take responsibility for
maintaining the home, a
condition that undermines
their access to courses or
training seminars.
Conclusions
The taxi drivers are aware
that the number of
dependents is somehow an
impediment to cover the
costs of the course.
Recommendations
That the course be administrated by
the Instituto Nacional de Apendizaje.

Variable 2: Economic Condition
Results
Conclusions
Recommendations
Taxi drivers interviewed
found it difficult to make
an estimate of monthly
income because they are
seen daily and everything
depends on the season.
Taxi drivers' incomes are
between fifty thousand and
two hundred thousand
colones per month,
depending on the season
although this figure may
increase or decrease.
According to the information
collected expenditures
fluctuate equally between
fifty thousand and two
hundred thousand colones
per month and do not cover
nearly all expenses and
family and personal needs.
The taxi drivers in the area should
organize their lives in the financial
field, so that their income does not
exceed expenses in order to have
sufficient funds to invest in courses,
lectures, seminars and other activities
related to their trade with the to
improve their living status.
10. Objetivo #2: To determine drivers’ comprehension of the
English language based on their attitude and perception
to
improve
their
jobs.
Variable 3: Attitude
Results
Conclusions
Recommendacions
Note that most
respondents have
not participated in
a course for taxi
drivers especially
since there are no
unions, meetings,
conferences or
other activities for
members of this
union.
Taxi drivers interviewed have a
positive attitude towards the proposal
of the course, and that showed
great interest in participating in it.
You are encouraged to
develop teaching the course,
have an attitude conducive to
analysis, criticism, debate,
discuss ideas and hard work
to field in this way through
the participation and
commitment to develop a
work climate that encourages
active participation of the
deponent.
It was not surprising that the vast
majority of taxi drivers to accept
commit to attending the course, as
they are in great need of learning the
language.
12. Objetivo #2: To determine drivers’ comprehension of the
English language based on their attitude and perception
to improve their jobs.
Variable 4: Language Perception
Results
Conclusions
The majority of
respondents do not
have, no proficiency in
English. This is reflected
in the charts and is a
clear evidence of the
need to provide English
courses according to
their profile which will
allow entry and place
them in one of the three
levels:
basic, intermediate and
advanced.
It's worrying that despite
the opportunities offered by
the government to improve
education through different
modules and night
hours, the respondents are
mostly the lowest
educational level is primary.
Recommendations
The implementation of the course
would be a way to improve and
increase the educational level and
language proficiency of taxi
drivers, because they consider it
important and useful to carry out
their work.
13. Objetivo #3: To analyze drivers’ linguistic skills to measure
the
effectiveness
in
the
application.
Variable 5: Listenning – Speaking
Results
The need of an
English course with
emphasis on
conversation is
unquestionable
because the taxi
drivers show formal
and prominent level
of proficiency.
Conclusions
The application of these
skills in teaching will allow
drivers to identify and use
the relationship between
listening and speaking in
production, comprehension
and construction of their
own learning.
Recommendations
It is suggested to the
facilitator to foster an
atmosphere in which the
student feels integrated to
achieve a total production
the objective under study.

Recommendions
At the time it aspires to
learn a language, reading
and writing of this should
never be relegated, as it is
intended to assimilate the
four language skills. The
table shows the lack of
proficiency in reading and
writing in English by the
formal and informal taxi
drivers interviewed.
The hinge between
these skills are
considered
inseparable because
one success leads to
another.
As a suggestion, the
teacher in charge must
foster an atmosphere in
which the deponent to
analyze and understand
what they read in order to
capture in writing the
above.

ensure their development.
18. Objetivo #4: To describe the touristic attraction of the

Recommendations
The information
provided by the
respondents said that
the beach hotels in the
Caribbean area is one
of the most visited
tourist destinations
because it does not
simply provide a room
but an entire complex
with wild forests in
transition from wet to
dry.
The Caribbean is
