DAFNI: Data and Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure launch event

6 July 2017

We’ve started a year-long consultation process to ensure that DAFNI’s capabilities can be applied to the management and development of infrastructure systems, so addressing the challenges our society is facing. We’ll be looking for feedback, comments and guidance to create a facility that will transform the way that infrastructure is delivered in the UK and globally. We will work with people, companies and partner organisations to find and drive the science and technology innovations that will enhance the UK economy.

Innovate UK – infrastructure systems

  1. 1. Innovate UK - Infrastructure Systems • In today’s climate, businesses want to stay ahead and they need their systems to work – within Innovate UK’s Infrastructure Systems these include Connected Transport, Energy Systems and Urban / City systems. As these are large and involve people there is a high degree of complexity. • Within Innovate UK we see achieving complex systems integration as an important step to economic growth – and a means to balance demand across limited infrastructure capacity, resources and operations to meet todays and future national societal challenges. Our role is to help UK businesses realise new markets in integrated infrastructure systems. • Working with ITRC and DAFNI is an opportunity to develop national capability to model and visualise interdependencies' of systems which is key to demonstrating benefits to UK businesses in being able to assess, evaluate opportunities from system optimisation across the breadth of infrastructure systems. • Combining forces benefits the decision making process in being able to determine the right point and level of intervention to help UK businesses realise new markets in integrated infrastructure systems
