Current Problems • Organic light emitting diodes are used in cellphone, batteries, photovoltaic technologies, and other organic electronics – Transistors are crucial to these devices. • Currently, thin film transistors are used for display technology. – There is a growing sub-segment that consists of organic thin film transistors
  3. 3. • Novel method for production of charge mobility layer in organic thin film transistors – Utilize solution to improve the growth of TIPS pentacene films – Employs thermal gradient to promote proper crystal growth • Allows for air stability, easy to process, and good charger carrier mobility • Mobility measurements conducted on films show order of magnitude improvement of the mobility, 0.05 cm2/V s when compared to 0.004 cm2/V s for non-annealed films.
