Strictly speaking no, unless the
school has a child pre-K day care
facility. However, beginning in
2011, regulations will be enforced
pertaining to the presumption of
lead for unsurveyed facilities during
certain renovation, repair and
painting activities. This presumption
will possibly require additional
unnecessary controls and costs.
Does all lead paint need to be
removed once identified?
No, the emphasis of the regulations
is on maintenance and reducing
hazards.
Does all lead paint need to be
removed to qualify as "Lead-
Safe"?
No, interim controls are permitted
and only hazards need to be abated.

This registry is a listing of
homes, apartments, schools
and day cares that have
received a "clean bill of
health" for lead. It assists
people in making an
informed decision prior to
buying or renting a home, or
placing a child in a school or
day care.
