Any organization that considers itself responsible has to ensure workplace wellness and safety for its employees. In fact, workplace wellness and safety has become such an important element for organizations that ensuring these is a regulatory requirement in many countries. Although in many places workplace wellness and safety are considered two separate items; ideally, an organization should provide workplace wellness and safety together as part of a holistic plan, so that the two complement each other.

3.  A healthier workplace, it goes
without saying, produces a happier
employee, who in turn is a more
productive employee. A healthier
employee is more motivated. She is
more likely to be more participative
in the organization's activities, and is
more likely to be eager to learn new
things for her own and the
organization's better. The foundation
of a healthy workplace is a workplace
wellness and safety program that
takes into consideration the overall
health requirements and needs of the
employee.

4.  Having said that, it is a fact that
workplace wellness and safety
is a work in progress. It is not
possible for any organization to
declare that it has reached the
end of its workplace wellness
and safety program and that it
needs to make no improvement
on it. This is because many
employee's work conditions
keep changing in most
organizations. These have to be
accompanied by corresponding
changes into the workplace
wellness and safety, which takes
into the consideration the most
current situation of each
employee at work.

5.  Of course, it is not always that only a workplace in which
heavy labor or hard physical work is involved has to have a
few workplace wellness and safety measures in place. These
measures apply equally to everyone at every kind of
workplace.
 Workplace wellness and safety is, as we have seen, to be
implemented across all the business activities, right from
those who work in air-conditioned offices to those who do
the manual work. So, the needs of each organization are
unique. For example, an organization that is involved in
software has to make sure it provides a healthy environment
in which the chairs are comfortable and ergonomically
designed, among other things. Likewise, a factory has to
make sure that the employees are made to feel comfortable
in the discharge of their daily work.

6. In this way, a workplace wellness and safety
program has to take all factors into
consideration to ensure that the employees are
well looked after. It is not only their
responsibility to do so; ensuring workplace
wellness and safety is a means to making the
organization a healthy one.
