4. Aztec Calendar
What: The Aztec Calendar, also known as the Sun
Calendar
Who: Invented by the Aztecs
Why: To be able to predict and know ceremonies,
cycles, rituals, and future events
How: A calendar carved on stone based on the gods,
with 20 different symbols that each represent
something.
Consists of a cycle of 260 days

In this picture you can see how large it was
compared to a human. This was the sun god,
located in the very center of the calendar.

They both tell the day and have cycles. The Aztec
calendar has 260 day cycles while ours have 365-
days in a year
The Aztec calendar is used to predict or forecast
events that are to come, ours only keeps track of the
days of each month
The Aztec calendar has evolved into the common
Calendar we use today.
