Toyota of Orlando helps foster youth in the community

  1. 1. Toyota of Orlando helps foster youth in the community! The last few summer days seem to be slipping by quickly, and there’s a lot to do to help families and students get ready for a new school year! Toyota of Orlando is an active part of the community, and we strive to do more than help drivers find affordable and reliable transportation options. Besides offering newer vehicles to the community and providing auto service in Orlando, we also work with a non-profit group that helps foster youth! Toyota of Orlando teams up with a non-profit organization! IMPOWER is a charitable organization that works with young adults and children. They help provide counseling, places to live, and help foster children prepare for the future. Last year we assisted IMPOWER by giving them a 2013 Toyota Sienna in Orlando through Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program. We also helped collect gifts through a holiday drive, where all donations went directly to IMPOWER and the young people they help! This year, we’re continuing our efforts at our location, and at our sister store – Toyota of Clermont – to try to help these foster youth get ready for the 2013-2014 academic year! Help young adults achieve academic success this year!
  2. 2. We’re working with our own team members and the community to try to gather much-needed school supplies for these young people. Foster youth who are over the age of 18 have “aged- out” of the foster care program and are on their own. IMPOWER helps these young people by providing them a place to live, and a stable environment to help them achieve success as adults. Many of these young people do not have families who are in a position to help them, so they must find a way to go to school and gather the necessary supplies on their own. That’s where Toyota of Orlando and the community can help! With IMPOWER, we’re hosting a Back to School Drive to gather school supplies to donate to these young people so they can enter the upcoming school year with all the supplies they need to have academic success! Some of the supplies that are needed include:  Backpacks  #2 pencils and pencil boxes  Erasers  Notebooks (both spiral and composition)  Black, blue, and red pens  Adult and youth scissors  Notebook paper (wide and college ruled)  Highlighters  Colored pencils  Computer and graph paper  Three ring binders (both 1-inch and 3-inch) Dropping off donations is supremely easy, too. All you have to do is swing by either our location or Toyota of Clermont! Both us and our sister store are open until 10:00 pm every day, so you never have to worry about trying to stop by at a certain time. We’re conveniently located right off of I-4 across from the Mall of Millenia at 3575 Vineland Rd, and our sister dealership is found just west of the Florida Turnpike at 16851 State Road 50! School will be starting soon, so don’t hesitate to contribute to this fantastic cause. We’re collecting donations through August 15th ! Google
