  • You can create any number of layouts that can be shared with your participants. The layouts are kind of like any number of desktops that you have arranged in such a way to facilitate the goals of your classroom or meeting room. For example, when online participants came into the meeting room, they were greeted with some simple instructions and some poll pods so that I could gather some information about the attendees. The next layout was also a simple layout for the introductions that Michael Morrison made to everyone; here I included some pictures and some text to enrich that part of the session. The next layout was the sharing layout where the pods lead me into my ppt presentation and a chat pod for participant interaction.
  • Here’s a quick list of some of the pods you see on your screen. The share pod is used to upload pre-existing powerpoint file to be share in the meeting room So, if you have a number of powerpoints already created you can immediately begin to share them in a virtual meeting room with any number of people. The share pod is also the whiteboard pod which is a collaborative space for brainstorming and has some basic tools to allow presenters to interact with their powerpoint that has been uploaded. A lilttle bit about what happenes when you upload ppts and other files. This is a “flash based” system which simple means that any content that is uploaded is converted to a flash video file. So, to just give fair warning, if you upload power points with elaborate animations and transitions, they may not translate into the flash version once it’s uploaded to the adobe connect server.

  • The Share pod allows hosts and presenters the ability to broadcast their desktop or any part of it to the participants. For instance, if you want to share just one application when you have two running on your system, you can be sure that the participants will only be able to view that portion of your screen.
