The document discusses the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), which certifies women-owned businesses. WBENC certification validates that a business is at least 51% owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman. It is accepted by over 1,000 corporations and various government entities. The document then states that Lumen Legal is a WBENC-certified woman-owned legal staffing company, and that this certification helps their clients achieve diversity spending goals and reduce costs.

Unlocking Value in Legal Spend
What is WBENC?
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), founded in 1997, is the
nation’s leading third-party certifier of women’s business enterprises (WBEs) for the private
sector. WBENC certification is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations in addition to
many states, cities and other entities. Corporate members include Ford Motor Company,
Google and Starbucks.
What Does Certification Mean?
WBENC Certification validates that the business is 51 percent owned, controlled, operated,
and managed by a woman. To achieve WBENC Certification, women-owned businesses
complete a formal documentation and site visit process which is administered by one of
WBENC’s 14 Regional Partner Organizations. Businesses must be recertified annually.
Why Is It Important?
With this certification, Lumen Legal helps legal departments achieve diversity spend
targets, increase the diversity of lawyers performing legal tasks and reduce costs. Our
WBENC national certificate number is 2005120871.
Lumen Legal is a woman-owned legal
staffing and outsourcing company
certified by WBENC.
