I started my first business in 1975 and have owned many since. In the late-80s, I drafted my first "checklist" to help me determine how and where I should focus my attentions. It was a great idea. After decades, the checklist became a bit unwieldy, so I trimmed it down and put in into a simple five-page presentation. To date, this information has saved me much time, money and grief as it gave me legitimate reasons to say "no" to some things and "heck yes!" to others. It has also helped me know when to jump on something, when to wait and watch and when to give thanks that I did not buy hype. I rarely find opportunities that score more than 50% and I have yet to find one to score 100%. At the time of this posting, I am working on two that score in the high-90s. If you find one that scores perfect, I would love to hear about it. I hope this presentation serves you as well as it has served me. And that it gives you a useful way to balance your work life with your family and fun desires.
