Interviewed people in the community
affected by food insecurity
As of 2014, more
than 48 million
Americans were food
insecure.1
Of those, more than
46 million rely on the
Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance
Program (SNAP).2
Some level of food
insecurity exists in
every single county of
this country.3
New Brunswick
reports that about
51% of families are
affected.4
Despite this, there is
still stigma in
receiving assistance
and unawareness
regarding food
insecurity.
I would like to thank my preceptor Amy Michael and
my project supervisor Lisa Pitz without whom this
podcast would not be possible. Also, a big shout-
out to Kelly Gugger, Ayah Issa, Katarina Piasevoli,
and Ray-Shawn Ledet for helping me with the
interviews and podcast compilation A final thank
you to Professor Hill for her endless patience and
counsel this semester.
