Pumpkins to Jack-o-Lanterns

  5. 5. Pumpkin Field <ul><li>When pumpkins are ripe, they turn orange and their stems wither and die. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Pick-Up Truck <ul><li>After they ripen, they are put on trucks and taken to pumpkin patches. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Pumpkin Patch <ul><li>A pumpkin patch is a place with a lot of pumpkins for sale. </li></ul><ul><li>The pumpkins are usually kept on the ground. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Buying a Pumpkin <ul><li>Parents and their children visit pumpkin patches to buy pumpkins for Halloween. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Gigantic Pumpkin <ul><li>This pumpkin is gigantic. </li></ul><ul><li>Gigantic means very, very large. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Removing Pulp and Seeds <ul><li>To make a jack-o-lantern you need to cut off the top. </li></ul><ul><li>Then you need to take out the seeds and the pulp. </li></ul>
  11. 11. Pumpkin Pulp and Seeds <ul><li>The inside of a pumpkin has pulp and seeds. </li></ul>
  12. 12. Carving the Face <ul><li>After you remove the seeds and pulp, you carve a face on the pumpkin. </li></ul><ul><li>You can draw the face with a pencil. </li></ul>
