6th Sunday of Easter (Year B)

  1. 1. You are my friends! Remain in my Love! 6 th Sunday of Easter
  2. 2. First Reading: Acts of The Apostles Acts 10: 25,26,34,35,44-48.
  3. 3. As Peter reached the house, Cornelius went out to meet him, fell at his feet and bowed low. But Peter lifted him up saying: “ Stand up! For I am only a man after all!”
  4. 4. Peter then spoke to them saying: “ Truly, I come to realise that God does not show partiality,
  5. 5. but He listens to everyone who fears God and does good, no matter what nation he is from.
  6. 6. While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit came down upon all those who were listening.
  7. 7. And the Jewish believers who had accompanied Peter were all astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit should be poured out on the pagans too
  8. 8. for they heard them speaking in tongues and proclaiming the greatness of God!
  9. 9. Then Peter declared: “ Can anyone refuse the water of Baptism to these people, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
  10. 10. So he ordered for them to be baptised in the Name of Jesus Christ. After that they asked him to remain with them for some days.
  11. 11. Praise be to God! The Word of God.
  12. 13. The Lord has shown His salvation to the Nations!
  13. 14. Sing a new song to the Lord for He has worked wonders! His right hand and His holy arm have brought salvation!
  14. 15. The Lord has shown His salvation to the Nations!
  15. 16. The Lord has made known His salvation; He has shown His justice to the nations. He has remembered His truth and love for the house of Israel.  
  16. 17. The Lord has shown His salvation to the Nations!
  17. 18. All the ends of the earth have seen     the salvation of our God.    Shout to the Lord all the earth!    Ring out your joy!       
  18. 19. The Lord has shown His salvation to the Nations!
  19. 21. My dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God!
  20. 22. Those who do not love God do not know Him for God is love .
  21. 23. God’s love for us was revealed when God sent His Only Son into the world that we may have life through Him .
  22. 24. This is love: not that we loved God but that HE LOVED US FIRST! HE LOVED US FIRST!
  23. 26. Praise be to God! The Word of God.
  24. 27. If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, says the Lord, and My Father will love Him, and We shall come to him. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
  25. 29. Then Jesus said to His disciples:
  26. 30. “ As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you!
  27. 31. Remain in My Love!
  28. 34. I have told you this so that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete!
  29. 35. This is My Commandment: love one another as I have loved you!
  30. 36. A man can have NO GREATER LOVE than to lay his life for his friends.
  31. 37. You are My friends If you do as I have commanded you.
  32. 38. for the servant knows not what his Master does. I do not call you servants,
  33. 39. I call you friends For I have spoken to you everything I have learnt from My Father.
  34. 40. You did not choose me; it was I who chose you and I send you to go out and bear fruit, fruit that will last The fruit: our love for one another!
  35. 41. and anything you ask the Father in My Name He will give you.
  36. 42. This is My Commandment, that you love one another! ”
  37. 44. fill the hearts of all those who are hurt and all those who still seek… May the joy of Christ
