Frans de WaalMoral behavior can be exhibited by animals not just humans.
He captured the attention of the audience by introducing himself, where he was from, andproposing what the world would like without religion.Attention grabber
AudienceengagementHe maintained engagementof the audience by usingmultimedia to support hisclaims and entertain theaudience.
He did not seem very excited, I contribute this to his personality but even attempting to be moreexcited about the topic would of helped his dynamism.dynamism 2/5
PresentationKept his slide show simple, limited transitions, usedvideo, and appropriate charts.
PresentationA strong topic can helpovercome a weak presentation. He gave a standardpresentation that didnt standout much from the norm but hedid it on something that wasinteresting and that made adifference.
Ken Robinson VS. Frans de Waal Pros• Charismatic and passionate • Well made presentation• Intriguing and persuasive • Informative and provacative
Ken Robinson VS. Frans de Waals cons• Lack of visuals • Little excitement• No data to back up statements, only personal stories • Did not connect with audience effectively
Ken Robinson VS. Frans de Waals • Frans wasnt as charismatic a speaker as Ken Robinson though both of them are passionate about their topics. Ken gave a more powerful presentation because he added more personality to his speech. Even though he lacked much data to back up his statements he still seemed more credible because of his posture and attitude.
This was an interesting statement that really intrigued me. It reminded me how often I’ve seenpeople avoid success and improvement because of their fear of failure. What I learned.
What I learnedFrans had some very interesting pointsand I realized that empathy and reciprocityis naturally engrained within us. I’m nowmore curious how people lose empathy forothers as they age and how society andenvironment affect one’s empathy towardsanother.
Tips for my classmatesThe advice I have to my fellow classmates in their future presentations would be.•Be passionate about whatever you speak about•Believe in yourself•Have a goal in mind•Desire to share that knowledge with others.
