When Cosmo left us …… we were so sad - Cosmo had been adear friend to all of us and we missedhim very much. Our other cat, Millie, hadlost her companion.
A New Pet?• At first, we mourned him. Andthen, we started to think aboutgetting another pet.• It didn’t have to be another cat• We decided to …
Brainstorm!!!!!!!And we werefortunately joinedby a third excellentbrainstormer…
• We started to brainstorm thequestion “How would you pickthe right pet for you?”• But, this course taught us tolook carefully at framing ofquestions• Looking closer at the question,we realized that what we wereactually brainstorming was“What factors would youconsider when choosing a pet?”
• But our third excellent brainstormer thenpointed out an interesting fact• The broader the question, the better thebrainstorming; the narrower the question, the less effective the brainstorming• At which point, we started to have somefun brainstorming “How do you take careof your pet if your pet is the planet Earth?”
• Or “If PET stands forPeace on EarthThrough-out, how canwe have world PET?”
At the end of theday, we realized thateven though we hadbrainstormed more than100 ideas, what wereally wanted was tofigure out how to selecta new cat to be ourspecial friend (andMillie’s, too)
• So our final brainstorminglooked at a combination ofthe questions– “How should we find a newcat to be Millie’scompanion?”– “Where will we find a newcat or kitten?– “What kind of cat or kittenshould we get?”
And we decided todo all the expectedthings, likeresearchbreeds, track catads, visit one ormore animalshelters, and talkwith friends
But wewould also“communewith thespirits” tofinddirectionAnd wewouldhavepatience
