Futures in Education Foundation An investment in Catholic education www.futuresineducation.org/ Press Release For Immediate Release: Contact: Tanya Dainoski April 24, 2008 tanya.dainoski@gmail.com 000.000.0000 Annual Catholic School Art Show and Wine TastingThe Futures in Education Foundation of the Diocese of Brooklyn will be hosting its3rd Annual Catholic School Art Show and Wine Tasting at the RubitzCenter, 689Queens Blvd., Jamaica, Friday, May1st, from 6 to 9 p.m.The event will showcase the work of students from the 129 Catholic elementary and highschools in the Brooklyn and Queens area. The tasting will include appetizers and avariety of wines donated by Accent Wine Distributors. Tickets are available through theFutures in Education Foundationfor $30 or at the door for $35. The price of the tastingincludes a complementary engraved wine glass. Donations are also appreciated.Funds raised are used to give scholarships to disadvantaged students attending Catholicschools in Brooklyn and Queens. With 40% of the 38,000 Catholic students in thediocese living below the poverty line, it is essential to provide support to keep thesechildren in school.TheFutures in Education Foundation ensures the continuance of Catholic schools inBrooklyn and Queens by providing tuition assistance and program support to the neediestof students and schools.The foundation was established in 1989 and operates on a grant from the Diocese ofBrooklyn. The organization raises money to support Catholic education in the Diocese.Ninety percent of the funds raised go toward scholarships for Catholic school studentswith remaining funds paying for programs and special events.The foundation offers a number of donation programs to supplement its scholarshipsincluding the“Be an Angel to a Student” program, dinners and golf outings, and school-business partnerships.
