Certification Course in
Logotherapy
The Application of Logotherapy: Advanced Course
At this point in the training the course is divided into two tracks, the clinical and educational
applications of logotherapy.
Clinical: The clinical track is intended for students who:
Possess training and experience in counselling
Strive to become competent therapists in the field of logotherapy
Have access to an available client base
Students in the clinical track will learn how to utilize logotherapy with individuals,
couples, families and groups, and in all areas of the mental health field, whether in a
private, agency-based or medical context. Emphasis will be on the therapist’s ability to
enable the client to discover the power of his or her own human spirit. The
logotherapist’s unique commission is to empower his or her client to face any
circumstance with dignity, strength and purpose, turning setbacks into
accomplishments, tragedies into triumphs, and reclaiming the meaning of his or her life.
These skills will be gained through hands-on, supervised experience with clients.
Educational: The educational track is an opportunity to apply the principles of
logotherapy beyond the context of mental health and counselling, whether in
educational, corporate or organizational settings. Emphasis will be on the promotion of
quality, meaning-centered and purposeful living in all areas of human endeavor.
Students will be trained in the presentation of logotherapeutic principles in workshops,
motivational speaking and educational seminars. Through these venues, the
logotherapist becomes an agent in societal transformation, creating a world that
recognizes the worth, freedom and dignity of all of its members.
The educational track is well-suited for students who:
Do not have training or experience in counselling and whose primary
focus is not the clinical application of logotherapy
Are actively involved in non-clinical fields, such as business, education
or community service
Are creative and entrepreneurial, and can chart new frontiers for the
