  1. 1. Thoughts that every team who wants to be successful, should understand...
  2. 2. There is no “I” in T eam For anyone who is thinking about the joke of the team above...the "i" is still part
  3. 3. Success Is a summation of failures, which in the end will amount to a successful outcome
  4. 4. Failure Is a step closer to a goal in the future
  5. 5. Luck People think it is luck that brings success, but luck is a booster to speed up progress so as to climb the failure ladder which leads to success, there are unicorns in the industry which had great luck…but they all had the failure ladder to climb
  6. 6. Failing Fast In order to move to the next step of the ladder, ultimately leading to success, one needs to fail fast. Why, because as soon as you know you have failed, you’ll get the next boost to try something different.
  7. 7. T ools & Technology Having the greatest tools and using the latest tech does not imply that you’ll be successful. The mindset of how to use the tools and technology makes the difference.
  8. 8. Motivation People have different kinds of motivations these might be salary, feeling useful, pride, power, learning, co-workers, perks etc…motivation is a mixture of all these which equate to super charged productivity. Different people have a different mix of ever changing attributes which give them motivation, learning what these attributes are at any point in time is the holy grail of people management. By creating a team mindset, you’ll be able to create common attributes shared by the team, which can be easily boosted for more productivity.
  9. 9. Perception of Failure There are different ways that people embrace failure, they can blame tools, they can blame people, they can blame bad luck etc. Only people who actually learn from failures and feel that what they learnt will move them forward, are the one’s which move up the success ladder.
  10. 10. Communication It is important to communicate failure and more importantly progress, by making failure and progress visible to all the team, one will feel more empowered to continue stepping up the ladder.
  11. 11. People, Processes & Technology People should always come first, then processes and finally technology. What does this mean? If people’s mindset is not focused, then they will blame processes and tech. On the other hand once the people’s mindset is geared to achieve a common goal, processes should be done to standardise day to day tasks…tech can come last or at the same time when creating processes.
  12. 12. Thanks hope this will give you a better insight on what makes a successful team. Jonathan Bonett
