The software industry is one of the most innovative in the world with household names like IBM and Oracle changing the way that people do business and pushing the boundaries of technology. But what can we learn from these titans of tech and their social media behaviour? In our new report, we looked at the social media statistics of software giants and identified best practices everyone can learn from. In Part 1, we used social media analytics to focus on the most used social network – Twitter. Through careful analysis of over 1.4 million posts from 20 industry leaders like SAP, Cisco and VMware we found that: - VMware are the most proactive producing around 15 tweets per day - IBM’s follower growth is three times higher than their competitors - The most used hashtags are #cloud, #BigData and #IoT - Posting photos of people and leveraging live events drives audience engagement
