Recount of trip to Howick Historical Village

 1. 1. Our Senior School Trip To Howick Historical Village

By Ineen Jarman

 2. 2.

My wonderful day started off by being woken up nice and early to get ready for my life changing trip. I did my jobs to get ready for the day, then after I finished doing my jobs I packed my costume items neatly into my bag. My costume items were a black skirt three inches higher than my ankles , a white top that was a bit see-through , my Mum’s floppy straw hat , a white apron with frilly shoulders with a flowery strip put together by my talented Grandma. Then I went to school.

 3. 3.

When I arrived at school I was amazed at everyones costumes. They looked fantastic , but now it was my turn to get changed into my costume for everyone to see. When I was getting dressed Madison came to get dressed too. After I got dressed I went into my class room to see my teacher Miss Delany’s costume when I finally found my teacher I took a good look at her cool costume. The thing was it was now my turn to show everyone what I look like in my costume. But the thing was that I was to embarrassed to go out side soon I did and I went to see everyones costumes.

 4. 4.

When I was looking around at everyone’s costumes I thought the boys looked funny. Out of everyone , I thought Jacob looked the best. When I was still looking around the bell rang loudly and I ran back to class quickly. Miss Delany told our class to sit down on the mat before she called the roll. After Miss Delany had called the roll I went outside to my Mum to get my camera and mince and cheese pie. Soon after we all went on the bus.

 5. 5.

On the bus I sat with Madison and Jessica E. On the way to our destination Nathan had found a Cicada and thew it at us and it landed next to Madison on the window aisle , Madison was starting to get scared and she stared to lean on me. Luckily we stopped and Connor came over to get it. He grabbed it and thew it outside and we said “Thanks Connor”. After our little accident we set off again to Howick Historical Village.

 6. 6.

We hopped off the bus and were told to sit down to have a quick snake before we started our adventure. When we were still eating a lady started to ring a bell and was telling us to get into our class lines. Then we were told to put our bags into the cabinets. After that we were sent to our activities. Our first one was Victorian games. Our teacher was Mrs Good , she told us about what people played in the 1850’s. There was a huge variety of games like graces , log hoppers , hoop and skimmer also

 7. 7.

diablo , plank walkers , stilts and quoits. After having fun playing all the games my class was sent away to our next activity. We were sent away to an old house. They told us they were going to a play called Migrant Women. It was about a family who were packing to come to New Zealand. Then after that we were sent to a hall with small sandboxes. After we were put into groups of 4 - I was put with Jamal , Nadya and Adam. We were told we were going to dig up things from

 8. 8.

in the sandbox. I found some interesting things like a penny , pieces of plates and pots and many more things. After that we were sent to the most scariest thing on earth- SCHOOL! At school we learnt how to spell hard words and wrote with ink quill pens. But when school was over we were sent back to were we had started to eat. Then we were told we could look around. I really want to go back but I like the morderen day best. I loved my experience.
