Maet goal statement

  2. 2. This is me. This was a very long time ago.<br />
  3. 3. These are my parents.<br />Mom is a hair dresser.<br />Dad is a sheet metal worker.<br />
  4. 4. As far back as I can remember, I asked for a piano.<br />Can I please have a piano?<br />

  7. 7. I am a very squeaky wheel.<br />
  8. 8. I also took dance as a child.<br />

  10. 10. But I didn’t really dance.<br />
  11. 11. I played with strange things.<br />

  13. 13. People noticed.<br />
  14. 14. I stopped doing homework.<br />
  15. 15. Are you sure you don’t have any homework?<br />I stopped doing homework.<br />

  19. 19. My new school had choir, so I didn’t have to pretend to dance!<br />

  21. 21. Well, at least at school.<br />
  22. 22. I once again did my homework.<br />
  23. 23. Mostly.<br />Zzzzzzz…<br />
  24. 24. But I remembered how to work hard.<br />
  25. 25. I graduated within the top 10 of my class.<br />
  26. 26. After high school, I went to Oakland University to study music education.<br />
  27. 27. It didn’t take long for me to realize that friends are better than coffee.<br />
  28. 28. Graduation was here again in no time.<br />
  29. 29. Graduation was here again in no time.<br />Magna Cum Laude!<br />
  30. 30. My passion and current job is teaching elementary music.<br />
  31. 31. One of my goals is to have a classroom where everyone belongs…<br />
  32. 32. Whether they play with glue,<br />
  33. 33. Sing too loud,<br />
  34. 34. Or need homework reminders.<br />
  35. 35. It helps to have lessons the kids want to do.<br />The xylophone is mine!<br />I get the drum!<br />I want the guiro!<br />Can I please have a piano?<br />
  36. 36. To make sure my lessons are things students want to do, my next goal is to add more technology components to my lessons.<br />
  37. 37. It is a great tool to access the world around us.<br />
  38. 38. It is also an inexhaustible resource of ways to reach my students, and effectively engage and assess them. <br />
  39. 39. In order to improve my teaching and maximize the impact of my subject matter on students, technology is the method I would like to explore. <br />
