TOC <ul><li>was founded in 2004 as service center for young people </li></ul><ul><li>is recognized as carrier of Youth initiatives and activities of local and regional Youth coalitions </li></ul><ul><li>has offices in cities of Zaječar and Niš, working and mobile teams in 7 towns (Knjaževac, Negotin, Boljevac, Bor, Kladovo, Sokobanja, Majdanpek) . </li></ul><ul><li>12 employees and 10 honorary workers </li></ul><ul><li>has over 100 active members and is operational throughout the whole year </li></ul>

M emberships <ul><li>TOC has a representative in CCM - a governmental body for monitoring of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis projects, financed by Global Fund </li></ul><ul><li>TOC is one of the initiative organizations and a founding member of  National Association of Youth Workers (NAPOR). Also, TOC representative is a member of Executive bord of NAPOR. </li></ul><ul><li>TOC is member of founding committee of  National Youth Council </li></ul><ul><li>TOC representatives are members of various work groups for strategy and law development in Republic of Serbia </li></ul><ul><li>TOC is member of National Coalition for Decentralization </li></ul>

Programs <ul><li>Youth Ombudsman </li></ul><ul><li>Timok Youth Centre provides services of Youth Ombudsman in the Timok region, which its customers (youth) serves as the public customer service, provides free legal, medical and other advice on topics of interest to young people, representing youth interests and initiatives and provides lobbying services - all in order to find ways to address and alleviate the problems of youth in the local community, and respect for human rights (primarily young). </li></ul>

Programs <ul><li>Peer education </li></ul><ul><li>Peer education is the education system through which young people who belong to the same social group, or share a certain parameter, acquire knowledge about a particular topic through lectures and gain further skills that enables them to transfer acquired knowledge to their peers through workshops. Peer education mainly target members of a certain group in order to encourage change of knowledge, their behaviour, and attitude of individuals and groups. This type of training is acceptable for young people especially when it comes to certain sensitive topics, such as HIV / AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases and substance abuse. </li></ul>

Programs <ul><li>Prevention of HIV and diminishment of damage amongst sexual workers in South-East Serbia </li></ul><ul><li>TOC provides services to prevent HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections in commercial sex workers. Its users (CSW) is used as a public customer service, provides free legal, medical and other advice on topics of interest to CSW. Through outreach programs, outreach workers find a C SW in the territory of southern and eastern Serbia, and they provide counselling services, the division of health promotional materials and services VCCT in mobile unit (specially ecquiped vehicle). </li></ul>

Programs <ul><li>Strengthening of HIV prevention and care about CSW through the activities of drop in Center in Niš </li></ul><ul><li>Aim of the project is strengthening of HIV prevention and reduction of harm from STD infections, as well as enhancement of welfare among CSW population of City of Niš. Drop in Center takes care of current needs of its users (CSW), and contributes to: </li></ul><ul><li>Raising the level of awareness and HIV/STD infections risk reduction among the u sers of Drop in Center, thus increasing the level of protection; </li></ul><ul><li>Offering services of social, medical, and legal help and counselling, as well as providing opportunities for receiving useful knowledge and applicable skills to its users – all that as means of improvement of social status and self help among Drop in Center users (CSW); </li></ul><ul><li>Providing services of testing for HIV/STD, pre - and post - counselling, </li></ul><ul><li>Promoting VCCT among Drop in Center users. </li></ul>

Programs <ul><li>Youth at Risk </li></ul><ul><li>new program – implementing from december 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>P rogram is implement ing in Serbia, Montenegro (partner – CAZAS), Bosnia and Herzegovina (partner – Partnerships in health) and Slovenia (partner – Mladinski svet Slovenia) </li></ul><ul><li>Ob j ective - Development of partnership and networking in awareness raising, advocacy, promotion of fighting youth risks . </li></ul><ul><li>This is a new program and idea that TOC will present and implement, containing three subprograms: advocacy; education of police members, educational staff, members of local goverment; peer education (risk, discrimination, conflict) </li></ul>

European Voluntary Service <ul><li>The European Voluntary Service (EVS) provides young Europeans with the unique chance to express their personal commitment through unpaid and full-time voluntary activities in a foreign country within or outside the EU. In this way, it seeks to develop solidarity, mutual understanding and tolerance among young people, thus contributing to reinforcing social cohesion in the European Union and to promoting young people's active citizenship. </li></ul>
