2. WP 6
The aim of the work is to support EU Member States in developing
and testing operational preparedness and response plans for
serious cross-border health threats from a multisectoral perspective.
The focus of this WP is to improve the integration of multiple
sectors in the overall IHR response to public health threats and
incidents
Preparedness & Response cycle:
2
5. Basic outline WP 6
5
1. Identifying core elements of an integrated
multisectoral
preparedness and response plan
Focus of the plan is intersections between
sectors
- What parties are involved?
- Where do they meet each other and on
what topics?
Inventory applicability in low GNI countries
2. Supporting partners and Member States in
development of an integrated Preparedness
and Response plan
- The backbone of the plan core elements
identified in step 1.
- Draft integrated Preparedness and
Response plans
- Clarify gaps, feasibility and barriers,
focusing on low GNI countries
3. Testing the multisectoral preparedness
and response plan:
Development of Disease X scenario
- Based on step 1 and 2 (core elements
identified) a disease X scenario will be
developed
- This scenario will be used to test the
country specific integrated IHR
preparedness and response plans.
- In this scenario active collaboration with
WP7, WP9 and WP10 will be sought in
order to provide the necessary technical
input in the simulation.

4. Simulation of Disease X scenario - Simulation of “Disease X” scenario to
develop, assess and test functional
capabilities and to describe procedures and
mechanisms that compose the
preparedness plans.
- Strengths and limitations will be revealed
by translating the “Disease X” scenario into
flexible e-learnings and tabletop exercises
for continuous learning and testing of core
elements
5. E-learnings and table top exercises - E-learnings and tabletop exercises will be
developed and used for continuous
evaluation of the integrated multisectoral
preparedness and response plans (WP 7-9-
10)
6. Lessons learned and best practices - Starts simultaneous with task 1.
- Lessons learned will be identified and used
for development of best practices catalogues
