1. Southampton TBG
• Started in 2008 - 5 members and created
small fund to be used to support business and
self sustaining projects in developing
countries.
• Collective agreement for what we invest into
• Projects are led by one of the group, followed
up with visits when possible.
• Started working with personal contacts within
the group firstly in Kenya & Uganda

2. Current Projects
• Key to starting projects is a link to an trusted
partner the ground
• This then facilitates opportunities with local
entrepreneurs and projects
• “On the Move” Travel & Tourism – Kisumu Kenya
• “Olive Branch” Self help groups, – Nairobi Kenya
• “Edith’s Home” vocational centre –
Ngora, Uganda
• Seed Press community project – Thoza, Malawi

3. Solar Power project
• Started with
Ezekiel who
was working
with sun dried
fruit.
• Tough Stuff
products solar
to create
opportunities
for village
based
entrepreneurs

4. Busoga solar
• Initial phase - sales based
business models not
successful
• Ezekiel discovered that
people would pay to charge
phones - so developed
rental model.
• Developed into be income
share with proportion of
income from entrepreneur
returned to centre to fund
expansion.

5. Busoga Solar
• Project is using larger solar
panels providing better
returns.
• Project is at a stage to
create a new village
entrepreneur every 2
months without any
further external funding.

6. South Sudan
• TBN group – a new link gave an opportunity to
expand model into South Sudan.
• Funded transport of our new entrepreneur Idi
to meet and be trained by Ezekiel & team in
Uganda
• Currently purchasing equipment to ship to
South Sudan
