  1. 1. DQF workflow in Trados Studio with TMS packages
  2. 2. Getting started ● Download the DQF plugin for Trados Studio 2015/2017 from the SDL App Store and install it on your machine.
  3. 3. Getting started ● Click on Login to sign in with your TAUS credentials.
  4. 4. Getting started ● If you don’t have a TAUS account yet, click on Don’t have an account?. You will be directed to TAUS website where you can sign up for a (free) account.
  5. 5. Open a translation package ● Open the translation package as you usually do. If the package originates from a TMS project that was created using the TAUS DQF workflow, after the package import, you will get an additional notification: Select Yes to continue the DQF workflow.
  6. 6. Open a translation package ● You will be guided through a DQF package wizard that will show the attributes that were selected by the TMS project owner as well as the applied review settings.
  7. 7. Open a translation package ● Select Finish to proceed with translation. ● If you wish to perform an internal review step, you can apply your own review settings by selecting I want to use my own settings. If you select this option, you will be able to create a DQF review package and will have the review step tracked by DQF. For more information on this step, please see the next slide (skip it if you do not want to perform an internal review step).
  8. 8. Define your DQF project settings ● Select the Review Type. ● If you wish to perform Error Annotation, select the error categories that you intend to use and adjust the Penalty Points and Pass/Fail Threshold as needed. ● Click on Finish.
  9. 9. Perform a Translation task in DQF project ● Once the TMS package is opened, you can proceed with translation as usual. ● When pressing Ctrl+S, the DQF pop-up will appear. It should not take longer than a couple of seconds.
  10. 10. Create a return package ● When the translation has been completed, create a return package using the native Trados Studio function Create Return Package. Note: Do NOT use the custom DQF functions to open or return the TMS packages. These custom DQF functions should only be used in the projects that have been originally created in Trados Studio.
  11. 11. Opening a review package ● Open the review package as you usually do. If the package originates from a TMS project that was created using the TAUS DQF workflow, after the package import, you will get an additional notification: Select Yes to continue the DQF workflow.
  12. 12. Perform a Correction task in DQF project ● Once the DQF package is imported, you can proceed with correction task as usual. Please note that you should open the project file(s) in Review mode in order to store your actions on DQF correctly. ● When pressing Ctrl+S, the DQF pop-up will appear. It should not take longer than a couple of seconds.
  13. 13. Perform an Error Annotation task in DQF project ● Once the DQF package is imported, open the project file(s) in Review mode. ● To apply an error category to the whole target segment, place the cursor in the segment and select the error from the Error Categories list. Selected error will appear in the overview tab next to the category list.
  14. 14. Perform an Error Annotation task in DQF project ● To apply an error category to separate word(s) in the target segment, select the word(s) first and then choose the appropriate error category. Selected error will appear in the overview tab next to the category list.
