Home Based Tele-Behavioral Health Care: An Introduction to the In-Home Telehealth Depression Treatment Study

The T2 In-Home depression study is an 8 week, no-cost trial of in-home tele-behavioral health care utilizing Behavioral Activation to treat clinical depression. Active duty Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard members may be eligible to participate if they are experiencing symptoms of depression, have high speed internet access at home, and are within driving distance of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington State.

Telemental Healthcare • Purpose of Study – Demonstrate safety &feasibility of In-home Telemental Healthcare. • Why? – Establish Telemental Healthcare as a DoD standard of care (similar to VA). • How? – We will utilize MOVI software, secure & approved for use by Army Medical Command for telehealth.2

Eligibility* Criteria INCLUSION EXCLUSION • Active Duty Service • Current suicidal ideation Members ages 18-65 with intent to act • Major or Minor • History of suicide attempt Depressive Disorder (we within past 6 months will determine diagnosis) • Active psychotic symptoms • High-speed internet • Substance Dependence access at home *Eligibility is determined during an in-person interview with study staff5
