Police Detective <ul><li>Tasks </li></ul><ul><li>Witness in court. </li></ul><ul><li>Obtain evidence from suspects. </li></ul><ul><li>Prepare and serve search and arrest warrants. </li></ul><ul><li>Note, mark, and photograph location of objects found and you have to make measurements of the scene. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Police Detective <ul><li>Tools and technology- </li></ul><ul><li>Word processing software (Microsoft Word), Presentation software (Microsoft Power point), Spreadsheet software (Microsoft excel), and environment software (ABC Programming language). </li></ul>

Police Detective <ul><li>Knowledge </li></ul><ul><li>Sociology- You need to know how to socialize with people. </li></ul><ul><li>Public Safety- Be aware of your own actions and what risks you will have to take in your life to investigate someone who potentially has a gun or a weapon. </li></ul><ul><li>Education and training- You need to know how to find people you are looking for. </li></ul><ul><li>Computers and Electronics- If you need to investigate someone you need to look up the person you are investigating. </li></ul>

Police Detective <ul><li>Skills </li></ul><ul><li>Critical thinking- You have to know what you are doing before you are doing it. </li></ul><ul><li>Active Listening- You need to be paying attention at all times because being a police detective is not the same job every day. It varies on the number of investigations. </li></ul><ul><li>Social Perceptiveness- Being aware of how others feel about the situation. </li></ul><ul><li>Negotiations- Bringing others together and trying to talk out their differences. </li></ul>

School Counselor <ul><li>Tasks </li></ul><ul><li>Counsel individuals to help them with problems that they can not cope with. </li></ul><ul><li>Help the kid out with individual problems that occur in school. </li></ul><ul><li>Encourage the individual to do more activities. </li></ul><ul><li>Identify cases such as family problems and try to encourage parents to seek from mental health professionals. </li></ul>

School Counselor <ul><li>Abilities </li></ul><ul><li>Speech Clarity- The ability to speak clearly so the people you are talking to can understand you. </li></ul><ul><li>Speech Recognition- The ability to understand what others are saying to you when you are speaking to another person. </li></ul><ul><li>Oral Comprehension- The ability to listen and understand information that others are saying to you. </li></ul><ul><li>Deductive reasoning- The ability to make rules to specific problems that make sense. </li></ul>
