  6. 6. What are the effects of global warming on water management from a political, social, geografical and economic point of view?
  7. 7. Drought <ul><li>Generally, drought is the precipitation associated with the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere, combined with the upward force of the air mass containing that water vapor. If any of these decrease, the result could be droughts. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Economic effects of drought <ul><li>Farmers are not the only ones suffering from drought. Retailers who provide goods and services to farmers must deal with reduced activity. This later leads to unemployment. Tourists do not want to travel to a country suffering from serious water shortages. Shortage of certain goods leads to expensive imports of essential goods from outside the effected area. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Drought is seldom or never the sole cause of famine. Social and political factors such as extreme widespread poverty play an important role. <ul><li>Some common consequences of drought include:
  10. 10. Famine due to lack of water for irrigation.
  11. 11. Damage to habitat for both terrestrial and aquatic animals.
  12. 12. Malnutrition, dehydration and disease.
  13. 13. Mass migration, resulting in internal displacement and international flight. </li></ul>Political and social effects on drought
  14. 14. Rising water levels All around the world glaciers are melting and getting reduced to nothing, causing the global water level to rise critically! If no measures are taken in the near future the effects of the glacier melting will increase rapidly

  19. 19. As the water level rises… <ul><li>The world map will change drastically mostly in the low sea-level countries </li></ul>
  20. 20. People will be forced to move out of their homes and countries… <ul><li>As people are forced to migrate to other countries alot of different beliefs and religions will get lessened in importance and this can cause political unrest </li></ul>
  21. 21. Leaving their old lives. <ul><li>As people’s homes are flooded and they have to migrate and leave their old lives behind, this might cause a huge economic crash in the countries </li></ul>
