  2. 2.    Media Sensationalism is defined as the style of reporting news to public which involves use of fear, anger, excitement and crude thrill undertake by the media to increase the viewership ,ratings and lastly profits. Sensationalism is so deeply embedded with all the channels that the distinction between accurate and inaccurate news has completely vanished. News about their breakups, relationships ,anger problems or be it any private matter is instantly shown and splashed in all the channel of communication.
  3. 3.    The most recent was a case where the mother was acquitted for the child murder by the Court. But media channel already etched her as a murderer in our minds making her life a hll in our society. I don’t think anybody would ever believe her side of story and even though she was found not guilty , papers and news telecaster had already crucified her as a devil in disguise.
  4. 4.   Similar, last year it was the swine flu craze which had seen most of the office having low attendance, schools being empty and roads bearing a deserted look. The report was true but it was escalated by the media to such a height that even if somebody sniffed we were rushing to the doctor clinic.
  5. 5.     The solution to avoid sensationalism in media lies in limiting media exposure and choosing what to watch. News sources often bombard you with the same negative stories over again . Sometimes, small incidents or events in the lives of celebrities and politicians are hyped, in order to make them more sensational. Instead, watch good programs that carry healthy content, content, engage in positive activities and encourage other to do the same.
  6. 6.        Media has served as a boon to mankind. It has provided us with an exposure to the world outside our cozy homes. It has resulted in an exchange of views on a subject of a wide variety of people from all around the world, there by leading to a global exchange f information and knowledge. It has brought out easy ways of communication and provided us with easliy accessible means to reach out to people in various part of the world. Thanks to technological development, we have been able to obtain a platform that enable us to present ourselves to the rest of the world. Media serve as the best means for a speedy spread of news about important incidents or events taking place. The speed that technology has achieved is helpful in times of crisis when media is to be used for reporting news needing immediate attention.
  7. 7.    To some extent, media is responsible for generating negative feeling among those exposed to it. If children are bombarded with fight sequences, stunt work, suicides and murders through books or movies, they are bound to leave a scar on these mpressionable minds. And not just children, the unpleasant can impact even an adult’s mind.
