Kitchen Whispering: Successfully Resolving Problem Jobs
Description
A typical day in the kitchen and bath industry is usually fun, rewarding and fulfilling but there are
those moments that many dread. The moment your phone loudly blares the warning siren of a
text message, email, phone call from a client that is less than satisfied ... sometimes downright
apoplectic.
Rest assured you are not alone, these moments happen to everyone at some point, but the most
successful develop the skills to manage these moments to a successful conclusion. One proven
tool is to understand how to best utilize the partnership between manufacturer, dealer, and
designer to increase your probability of profitably navigating these situations.
Join John Morgan and take an in-depth look at real life field examples, and develop successful job-
site and project management tools to use in your own business. Happy customers equal
successful businesses and keep all of us on course for fun, fulfilling and rewarding days in the
kitchen and bath industry.
Learning Objectives:
· Discuss techniques to resolve job-site issues in the best interest of all parties
· Explain ways to collaborate with suppliers to resolve consumer issues properly.
· Analyze ways to reduce job-site issues, increasing the profitability of projects
Paula Kennedy CMKBD, CAPS, CACC
Inspirational Speaker. Writer. Designer. Creativity Coach. Serial Entrepreneur.
As an Interior Designer of 19 years, and a Creative all my life in one form or another, Timeless
Kitchen Design is a second career post Corporate America that provided an outlet for my desire
for creativity. I fell in love with Kitchen and Bath as it offered my left brain the joy of digging
into the technical details and my right brain the ability to play with space and color.
I am a Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer through NKBA, received my CAPS, Certified
Aging in Place Specialist, through NAHB, and a recent addition as a Certified Architectural Color
Consultant. I have been honored in the last 19 years to be an award winner, published locally
and nationally and now giving back by speaking, teaching, mentoring and writing!
Recently reinventing myself creatively, I have embraced my inner Guru and started teaching
and writing about innovation and creativity. This new expression has exploded my career
diversity in a way I never imagined. My desire is to continue sharing my journey and what I’ve
learned along the way.
Creating a better quality of life for all my clients is at the heart of my business mission
statement. This drives my passion for timeless design that functions smoothly, resonates
emotionally and makes us smile visually! A favorite quote by a client and now a friend; "I know
many people who "love" their job, but Paula’s joy of what she does is positively infectious."
I am taking that infectious passion into inspiring my clients, my peers and other Creatives to
move beyond their comfort zones to having a space and life that is more fulfilling.
"Ignite Creativity"
"Highly rated 5 year KBIS Voices from the Industry, NW Chapter programs, Dwell on Design, NKBA
Webinar"
 Understanding Creativity
 Right Brain/Left Brain interaction
 What Blocks Creativity
 "Creativity is more than a career; it's a way of life!"
 How to cultivate a more creative life
o Re‐energize your career
o Burn out recovery is possible
o Not just for Designers, we can all be more creative!
