3. What are the standards of effective Recognition?
• Meaningful – Do not “copy and paste”
recognitions for different individuals, even if the
commendable actions are similar. Every
contribution is unique and needs to be recognized
individually.
• Timely – Don’t delay! Recognition should occur
soon, if not immediately, after a commendable
action has taken place.
• Specific – Recognition statements need to
highlight how the commendable action has benefited
the department and/or company.
• Sincere – Use an appropriate tone to convey a
sincere sense of appreciation.

Everyone is encouraged to recognize the contributions of
others regardless of rank. Here are the most common
recognition relationships:
5. What types of recognition are available?
There are two types of recognitions – Free and Points
Based.
Each month, you’ll receive a Recognition budget allowance of 2,000 points. These points are to be
used towards recognizing others. There are 6 points based categories to choose from (see below).
Any unused Recognition budget allowance will not roll over to the following month. Therefore, you are
limited to 4 points based recognitions per month.
Free recognitions are unlimited and can be awarded to others as many times as you’d like.
