Run the string in the holeuntil the locator sub on the tubing seal assembly is landed in With Hold Down Without Hold Downthe Seal Bore Packer. Apply set-down weight of 6,000 lbs.to 8,000 lbs., depending on packing element hardness, to setand pack-off the packer. The set-down weight trips thesnap-latch mechanism and packs-off the packing elements.Releasing Procedure:- To release the packer simply pick up the tubingstring. If the weight of the string below the packer is greaterthan 1,500 lbs, the snap-latch will relock to the running-inposition. The packer can then be raised or lowered duringthe retrieving operation.If the weight of the string below the packer is less than1,500 lbs, the snap-latch will not relock, so the assemblymust be brought to the surface before attempting to run itagain. 33

Rotate the tubing to theright 1/4 turn at the packer so slips will now be in therunning position. Packer can be moved to a new positionand reset or it can be retrieved.As an alternate release method, the packer has shear ringsdesigned to part at tension varying from 13,000-100,000 lb.The cone, packing element and guide drop down and arecarried out of the hole by the bottom sub. If normal releaseis not possible, left-hand square threads on the top sub ofthe packer allows the tubing to be retrieved when the packerwill not otherwise release. 34
