  2. 2. There was a rich merchant who had
  3. 3. He loved the 4th wife the most.He adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.
  4. 4. He also loved the 3rd wife very much. Hes very proud of her and always wanted to show her off to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.
  5. 5. He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchants confidante. Whenever the merchant faced aproblem, he always turned to his 2ndwife and she would always help him to get through the difficult time.
  6. 6. Now, the merchants 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made greatcontributions in maintaining his wealthand business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.
  7. 7. One day, the merchant fell ill. Beforelong, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, Ill be alone!"
  8. 8. Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I lovedyou most, endowed you with the finestclothing and showered great care overyou. Now that Im dying, will you follow me and keep me company?""No way!" replied the 4th wife and shewalked away without another word. The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchants heart.
  9. 9. The sad merchant then asked the 3rdwife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that Im dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is sogood over here! Im going to remarrywhen you die!" The merchants heart sank and turned cold.
  10. 10. He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and youvealways helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "Im sorry, I cant help you out thistime!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.
  11. 11. Then a voice called out: "Ill go withyou. Ill follow you no matter where yougo." The merchant looked up and there was his 1st wife. She was very skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "Ishould have taken much better care of you while I could have!“
  12. 12. Actually we all have 4wives in our lives, …
  13. 13. No matter how much time and effort welavish in making it look good, itll leave us when we die
  14. 14. When we die, they all go to others
  15. 15. No matter how close they had been therefor us when were alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave
  16. 16. Often neglected in our pursuit of materialwealth and sensual pleasure. It is actuallythe only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps its a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until were on our deathbed to lament.
  17. 17. WHAT WILL YOU DO ABOUT THIS?THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS LET OTHERS KNOW
