 Sue Aber, DDS, has been in the oral health care field for more
than 40 years. The owner of Sue Aber DDS Family Dentistry in
McAlester, Oklahoma, she is a member of the American
Dental Association (ADA) and promotes the advancement of
the dental profession.
Founded in 1859, the ADA is a not-for-profit dental association
with the goals of providing assistance to dental professionals
and improving oral health care. Every year, the organization
hosts America’s Dental Meeting, which brings together
members of the dental community, from clinicians to
educators. The event offers its attendees more than 300
continuing educational courses, 550 exhibit booths, and
speaking engagements by honorary guest speakers.

 This year, ADA 2016 – America’s Dental Meeting will
be held in Denver, Colorado, October 20–24. Nobel
Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai will address
attendees during the Distinguished Speaker Series
sponsored by oral hygiene product maker ACT. In
October 2012, at the age of 15, while riding home on a
school bus in her native country Pakistan, Malala
Yousafzai was shot and nearly lost her life. She is now
an award-winning author and renowned international
activist for girls’ education. Speaking on behalf of the
ADA, President Carol Gomez Summerhays has
expressed Ms. Yousafzai’s visit as a unique privilege
and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
