Donations to Outreach – at our February Vestry the people of St. Nicholas made awonderful commitment to support our Parish Outreach ministry which includessupporting the Churches by the Bluffs Foodbank and a weekly Inter-Faith LunchProgram. Direct donations to Outreach may be made using the blue envelopes at theback of the Church or through pre-authorized giving. One ofour readings for that day, from Acts 2, emphasizes that as Peter preached each personwho listened to him heard Peter in their own language. Please join us for a special celebration to mark theblessing of Rev’d Alison’s ministry with us as Assistant Curate over the past two years.June 2nd will be Rev’d Alison’s last day at St. Nicholas. She will begin her new ministryas Incumbent of St. Martin’s Bay Ridges on July 8th. Her service of Induction will takeplace at St. Martin’s on September 22 at 4:00pm. Please uphold Alison in your prayersduring this transition.Kitchen Shower- Wow!! What a great responseThank you to everyone who has contributed to the kitchen shower. For those of youwho have not had an opportunity yet, there are still some items remaining to bepurchased. A pictorial wish list is posted in Robinson Hall showing the items neededwith their prices. Just choose which item you would like to donate, fill out thecorresponding envelope and enclose the listed amount of money, (you can gotogether with someone). Members of the outreach committee will do all of theshopping and the items will be purchased on your behalf. The Outreach Committeewill be sponsoring a special coffee hour on the 26th of May to thank everyone fortheir donations. At this time all the donated items will be on display. The group is a free, four week beginner’scooking class and support group for male partners caring for someone with dementia.It runs each Tuesday in June from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will have a hands oncooking experience, prepare a simple easy to learn recipe, enjoy lunch together andtake home two heart healthy meals.
