The annual training plan must be based on the previous year’s achievements of the athlete and the performance during the main competition.

SPORTLYZERROWING ACADEMYAs the competition period is the most important period for the athlete in annual trainingplan, this period should be planned first and all other periods depend on this.In order to have the first overview, mark down the most important competitions of theyear. Those competitions should be the „anchors“ to use different training cycles fortarget abilities.
  4. 4. SPORTLYZERROWING ACADEMYNow you should add the competitions that are of less importance, but still needed to getcompetitive experience. Additionally, this is the time to specify race plans and tactics.
  5. 5. SPORTLYZERROWING ACADEMYThe next step would be the inclusion of the training cycles to develop the abilities arower needs. This step is based on periodization that refers to the way how differenttarget abilities are developed through the year.

There will always be deviations from the initial plandue to illness or other external factors, therfore the plan also changes.
