  1. 1. A VISION Education is the mother of leadership….. and a nation’s progress depends on its leader! The youth of a nation is the reflection of its future. To educate & encourage education is probably a nation’s key to success! …..Schools,Colleges.Universities,Madrasahs had been & are still imparting knowledge to innumerable scholars since ancient ages….. With technological upliftment , came more basic and contemporary learning solutions….TATA CLASSEDGE is one such endeavour….and yet it does not disregard the importance of a TEACHER but values it and aims at being an ACADEMICIANS MAGIC WAND!

TATA CLASS EDGE Takes into account that every individual student has a particular learning style. Learners can be of different classes:- TATA CLASS EDGE hence aims at devising unique yet simple tools for the teachers to approach! CONSEQUENCE???? Teachers can now deal with a class comprising various types of learners ….. at the same time….

  5. 5. Being naïve yet approaching to modify the established teaching pattern of a School was & is never an easy task……. …..and yet tougher is to barge into the stable mindsets of the experienced , successful & popular teachers & academicians!

Moment of smile Learning about  the teacher’s methods,  student categories school curriculum computer awareness helped us to design our workplan to prepare the school for the scheduled “On AIR” date….. Communication with the school management Interaction with the teachers & students paved our path towards a smooth initiation! all the hard work rewarded us with the excited “AWESOME” shrieks of the students in their first class! This is what TATA CLASS EDGE aims at….Making Learning a FUN experience!!!!

Adding an Extra “EDGE” Teachers enjoy availing classedge….& we could promise them some oppurtunities:-  THE STAR TEACHER On the basis of monthly usage report every teacher could get some points under particular parameters of class edge like “multimedia usage, presentation created, quiz created, resource added, lesson plan viewed”….& certified or rewarded on a quarterly/half yearly basis!  REMIND-DOORS Posters on class rooms walls, school corridoors….might help teachers remind them about the necessity of visiting class edge centre regularly.

COM Online social networking could be arranged so that teachers from all over the world….(or within the country) are able to interact….so that it can inculcate newer ideas/methods…..for improved & modified teaching! AN ENSEMBLE CAST Video conferences/ Regional Meetings could be arranged amongst teachers & TATA CLASS EDGE Team based on the notions discussed among the Online teachers!

Time for something new on TATA class edge  Question Bank:-where teachers could directly add questions on respe tive subjects to add more to the question bucket  Vocabulary:- An inbuilt word bank to help the teacher & students  Atlas :-repository of physical,political & topographical maps  Geography tools  FORWARD & BACKWARD options on the terminals as it becomes  a problem in woring without those options!  Mock Test Questions  Syllabus store:-where the school admin could upload the syllabus for all the classes for the session!  User Friendly Class edge with time management:-the alarm function poses a probem for the teachers who lack computer handling skills  Aural Comprehension:- Could be a tool for the english/vernaculars as it could help students develop concentration,vocabulary,as well as comprehending & writing skills  Faster download manager:-that can automatically update from the central server FASTER
  15. 15. Newer the better:-Game edge  WHERE’s the ANSWER?? In game edge “cricket game”the correct answer is not provided when a player gets “OUT” due to a wrong answer!  Correct answer should be provided  Mind Game :- that could help child to develop IQ  Short CIRCUIT :- physics games that might explain the concepts of electricity & electronics to students!  Aural Comprehension:- Could be a tool for the english/vernaculars as it could help students develop concentration,vocabulary,as well as comprehending & writing skills

MULTIMEDIA in CLASS  Teachers using multimedia should keep in mind:-  Discussion with practical example before showing multimedia: Teachers should go through chapters,discuss the detail &.....then opt for the video....it helps students to relate to the MMs!  Play, Pause, Explain: When teachers are playing any multimedia content they should explain the subject play & pause the mms.This enables audio visual learning of the students!

Voice of the students ……..  Great learning experience:- Students having a gala time learning.  Practical Experience:- Students are liking the media as they are able to ralate to the Subject easily & grasp the essence  The Accent :- Students are very happy about the accent which has been used in all media. It is easily understandable for them.  Stressbuster:- Students value Tata Class edge as it enables a relaxed mode of learning! Students Suggestions:-  Student insists on increasing game edge content & new game additions.  Students specially from higher class student from viii to xii, want mature and application oriented MMs instead of mere cartoons.
  18. 18.  Real time suggestions / feedback TEACHERS  “Interest “ building steps:- Teachers believe that through class edge & game edge students will get more interest in learning  Learning made fun:- The concept of game-edge what TIS have introduced, appreciated by the teachers as they encounter that students are enjoying their classes!  Less labour with easy teaching style:- They feel that class-edge have made the teaching easy and labour saving.  Non availability of all the subjects & chapters: - Still some subjects and some chapters are not present in class edge  Geography tools:- Maps, Atlas  Anatomical tools:-help student grasp basics of the parts of the human body & the systems  In built Vocabulary  Assessments with mock questions  Addition of more multimedia on all subjects & chapters also suggested that the quiz section s WE PROMISE TO LOOK INTO THIS !!!!
  19. 19.  Real time feedback Parents seem to equally curious & excited about this tech age learning! Even they believe such an audio visual fun easy learning process would inculcate knowledge & creativity in their children,besides obtaining good grades! PARENTS

Food for thought!  System:-the established system of traditional teaching methods , the stereotype mindset is the greatest challenge to be dealt with  Inhibitions:- Most of the senior experienced teachers lack computer knowledge,hence an inhibition works in trying to opt for e learning tools!  Content unavailability:- Content unavailability is another major factor for computer, G.K, vernaculars. Bug Problem:- Due to this problem, class room as well as staff room usage may come to a halt.Even the content can get hampered.
  21. 21.  Single Portal for class edge & game edge  Thought exchange & live debate with other class edge school  Teacher.com:-Social networking for the teachers across the country availing class edge  Mock Question bank:-For the board exam takers  Aid to the Absentees:-For the students who missed their school could retrieve the portions being taught from their home terminals/student terminal which could be set up in the school library!  “LOCKER” tab may be included where teachers could store their day’s class works,from which the absentees could retrieve the data!  “ Class edge live” through which every month students can exchange there thoughts with those of other class-edge schools through any live debate , or any live quiz, or any conversation on topic.  It will not only create a milestone in school education, but it will globalize the advantage of class edge among all other class edge schools around the country.
