3. 3.

Technopreneurial Metacapability places itself into the middle of this debate & hypothesises the potential for the increased personal & commercial entrepreneurial performance, which may be achieved by the combination of four continuous personal improvement ‘competence factor’ activities.

 4. 4. . 1) An entrepreneur’s ability & capability for creativity and innovation. 2) The adoption & optimal use & utilisation of Information Communications Technology (ICT). 3)The capacity for self directed lifelong learning. 4) The ability to manage cultural change (transculturation) from within their own unique background, attitudes, capabilities, social, commercial & personal cultural environment.
 5. 5.

My research design encompasses a study of active creative entrepreneurs situated within the MediaCityUK & Manchester Knowledge

Capital Creative

Clusters between 2010 - 2012 and will target specifically the over 50s age group.

 6. 6.

The literature suggests that entrepreneurialism

exists within an environment of risk, change,

uncertainty & complexity. The entrepreneur has

to deal

with constantly changing economic demand,

to create new opportunities, to reduce uncertainty

& complexity & effectively ‘connect’ their knowledge,

experience & expertise in order to create profitable

outcomes from their work.

 7. 7.

Added to this

scenario are

their

personal

cultural

variables, their

need for self

actualisation,

and their need

for achievement

& the

commercial

necessity

for continual

growth of

new

competences.

 8. 8. Crucial to their endeavours are their inherent character & personality & their activity & interactivity with their cultural & economic environment. In addition, the effectiveness of the knowledge based processes they adopt & increasingly their connectedness with the knowledge economy will prove crucial to the creation of sustainable competitive advantage .
 9. 9. The U.K’s economic success it is said will depend upon its ability to commercialise & profit from research and ideas and to innovate in the service & creative sectors; which in 2005 contributed £60 billion or 7.3 per cent to the U.K’s Gross Value Added .
 10. 10. The creative industry is currently growing at twice the rate of the rest of the U.K. economy & MediaCityUK is believed to be fundamental to the U.K.s ambition to become one of the world's creative hubs .

 12. 12. My research accommodates conventional & electronic research methods primarily using two specially developed web sites for entrepreneurs (in general) & creative entrepreneurs (in particular)
 13. 13. My research methodology is based upon a core of social constructivist & post-modernist philosophy, in addition to humanist learning theory & connectivism. My research methods include applications of qualitative surveys, questionnaires, interviews & case studies within a paradigm of grounded theory, action research & scenario planning.
