  3. 3. George Pierre Seurat (1859-91) Born in Paris in 1859 . Neo-Impressionism = aspects of color theory + psychology of perception to paint landscapes and genre scenes. Technique = chromoluminarism / pointillism. Away from the rapidity of Impressionism monumental art. Sketches in the open air, then the burlap completely painted in his studio.
