CDK1 INHIBITION SENSITISES TUMOURS WITH WILD TYPE BRCA1 TO PARP INHIBITION   BRCA1 &quot;breast cancer 1&quot; is a tumor suppressor gene, which regulate the cell cycle and prevent uncontrolled proliferation. CDK1 is a highly conserved protein that functions as a serine / threonine kinase, is encoded by the gene cdc2. Phosphorylation of these proteins control cell cycle progression
  14. 14. CDK1 INHIBITION SENSITISES TUMOURS WITH WILD TYPE BRCA1 TO PARP INHIBITION   A combination of a PARP inhibitor with a Cdk1 inhibitor also showed reduced tumour growth and prolonged survival compared to treatment with one or no inhibitors in a mouse model of lung adenocarcinoma.
