  2. 2. Viruses  Can Spread from one computer to another.  Needs human action to execute itself.  Can destroy files , corrupt your data.  Propagates when the host program is executed.  Slow down your pc.

Worms  A computer worm is a standalone computer program that replicates itself in order to spread to other computers.  Does not alter files.  Resides in active memory and duplicates itself.  Don’t need human activity to transfer from one computer to another.  Slow down your pc and increase usage of resources automatically.

Difference B/w Virus and worms Virus Worms  Attaches itself to OS or programs.  Needs user action to propagate.  Needs a host file.  Spread quite slowly.  Don’t attaches itself with OS.  Automatically propagates over network.  No Host needed.  Can spread in thousands of numbers in some minutes.
  6. 6. Trojan  Trojan horses do not replicate themselves but they can be just as destructive.  Can be employed by hackers.  Provides backdoors to your computer data which can be used for stealing data by hackers.  Can Exploit your data.
  7. 7. Virus Protection  Install Any Antivirus Program.  Don’t download Software's from unknown resources.  Activate Windows Firewall.  Scan your computer for finding infected files.
