- A THREAT TO BIRDS
Look deep into
nature,
and then you will
understand
everything better.
~ Albert Einstein ~
LETS ASK SOME QUESTIONS FROM
OURSELVES….
 Are plastic bags really necessary ?
 Do we need plastic bags for some grocery ...
REASON….
 The main reason is “WE – The Humans”...
AN EXAMPLE ..!!
 In many areas of the globe, birds inadvertently
feed on plastic floating on the water, mistaking it
for ...
THE DIFFERENCE….
 What we see..  What actually it is…
SO CAN WE DO SOMETHING NOW…??
“YES” we can.
We are not new to recycling. We’ve been doing it for years and it’s
a big part...
TO REDUCE THE
USE OF PLASTICS..
DON’T USE GARBAGE BAGS JUST EMPTY YOUR
TRASH INTO THE GARBAGE BIN.
SEE THAT YOUR DAILY NEWSPAPER SHOULD NOT BE
WRAPPED IN PLASTIC WHEN DELIVERED.
STOP USING PLASTIC STRAWS EVEN IN
RESTRAUNTS.
USE MATCH STICKS INSTEAD OF DISPOSABLE
PLASTIC LIGHTERS.
DON’T BUY BEVERAGES BOTTELS IN PLASTIC.
GLASS IS GREAT!!
USE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES AS THEY ARE
PACKAGED IN PLASTIC.
I Hope This Presentation Could Bring Some Change.

  1. 1. PLASTICS - A THREAT TO BIRDS Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better. ~ Albert Einstein ~
  2. 2. LETS ASK SOME QUESTIONS FROM OURSELVES….  Are plastic bags really necessary ?  Do we need plastic bags for some grocery to take it at home ?  Did we ever think for even a second before throwing plastic wastes anywhere ?  How much plastic do we really need ?  Do you feel safe eating food from a plastic container that was micro waved?  Buying water in plastic bottles is a waste, do you agree?
  3. 3. REASON….  The main reason is “WE – The Humans”...
  4. 4. AN EXAMPLE ..!!  In many areas of the globe, birds inadvertently feed on plastic floating on the water, mistaking it for food, and many times this ingestion leads to death and even the death of their young. A report by scientists studying the stomach content of Laysan Albatross chicks on Midway Atoll in the Pacific Ocean revealed disturbing results: Forty percent of Laysan Albatross chicks die before fledging. Necropsies of the chick's stomachs found them filled with plastic trash. (See photo to right of Laysan Albatrosses nesting among plastic debris on Midway Atoll)

  6. 6. SO CAN WE DO SOMETHING NOW…?? “YES” we can. We are not new to recycling. We’ve been doing it for years and it’s a big part of your daily routine. We’ve become at an expert at identifying what plastics you can and cannot recycle. Now focus on another important part of eco-friendly living: reduce the use of plastic. Recent studies have shown that there’s more plastic than plankton in some of the remote parts of our oceans . We need to remove it...! So let’s get to it–
