  2. 2. What is Mobile PHONE? A mobile phone is a portable telephone that can make and receive calls over a radio frequency link while the user is moving within a telephone service area.
  3. 3. Mobile Phone’s Evolution Till Now: Motorola DynaTAC LG G6
  4. 4. Motorola DynaTAC: 1983  A full decade after that first cell phone call, this customer model finally hit the market, weighting almost 2 pounds and costing nearly $4,000.  Nickname “The Brick”  It required a 10-hour charge for 30 minutes of use.

Motorola MicroTAC 9800x: 1989  First manufactured as an Analog version in 1989.  It introduced an innovative new “Flip” design, where the “mouthpiece” folded over the keypad.  In addition to the 12-button keypad, it had buttons for Power, Function, Menu, End, Send, Clear, Store and Recall.
  6. 6. Motorolainternational 3200: 1992  First digital hand sized mobile phone from Motorola introduced in 1992  The 3200's shape (and size) resembled an elongated brick  the flexible "rubber duck" antenna was two- thirds as long as the phone's case.
  7. 7. Nokia 1011: 1992  It was the first mass- produce GSM phone.  It featured a monochrome LCD and an expandable antenna.  The memory could hold 99 phone numbers.  The phone was able to send and receive SMS messages.
  8. 8. IBM Simon: 1994  It was a handheld, touchscreen mobile phone.  It was the first phone to use software applications.  It was the first cellular phone to include telephone and PDA features in one device.
  9. 9. Motorola StarTAC: 1996  It was the first clamshell/Flip mobile phone.  The StarTAC is the successor of the MicroTAC.  Whereas, the MicroTAC’s shell folded down from below the keypad, the StarTAC folded up from above the display.
  10. 10. Nokia 8110: 1996  It was the first nokia’s high- end 8000 series of phones also called “banana phone”  A sliding cover protected the keypad when being carried in the phone.  Bringing the microphone closer to the mouth.  The action of opening the cover also answered an incoming call.
  11. 11. Ericsson R380: 2000  It was a GSM mobile phone.  It was the first device marketed as a smartphone.  It was the first device to use the Symbian OS.  The display was a black and white touchscreen.

Nokia 3310 : 2000  It has gained a cult status due to its durability.  It is known for having many features such as a calculator, nokia, network, monitor, stop watch.  It has four games but the Snack series of games had been popular on nokia handsets.  It was popular for SMS text messaging because it allowed long messages.
  13. 13. Sanyo SCP-5300 : 2002  It was the first camera phone.  It features a dual color displays and an integrated camera with flash.  Additional features include high-speed data, Java, voice dialing, voice memo, call screening and PIM features.

Nokia 1100 : 2003  It features Nokia’s traditional-style navigational keypad, which can be selected button to connect and end calls.  The 1100 and 1101 are only able to play monophonic ringtones.  It features a built-in flashlight.  Other features include a 50 message capacity, alarm, stopwatch, calculator, contacts storage (capacity 50).

  16. 16. Nokia 6630 : 2004  The nokia 6630 is a 3G smartphone announced by nokia.  It runs on Symbian OS 8.0a .  supporting tri-band GSM (run on lower operating systems) .  The 6630 is capable of video calling using the main handset camera.
  17. 17. Motorola Razr V3i : 2005 The V3i was announced in November 2005.  Including a better camera with 8x digital zoom, an improved external and internal display, also support for microSD cards upto 512 MB maximum.  This models includes a Bluetooth headphone and FM earphones.
  18. 18. Nokia N73 : 2006  Nokia N73 is a smartphone announced by nokia.  It features a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera.  It runs on Symbian v9.1 .  The N73 uses a database system for the supplied “Gallery” applications.
  19. 19. First iphone : 2007  The iphone is the first iphone model designed & marketed by Apple inc.  It featured quad-band GSM cellular connectivity with GPRS and EDGE support for data transfer.  It came with 2.0 megapixel camera with geo tagging.

HTC Dream : 2008  The HTC Dream was the first commercially released to use the Linux based operating system.  It’s design features a distinctive “chin” on the bottom which houses 5 navigation buttons ( Call, Home, Menu, Back and End call)  A clickable track ball in the center which can be use for scrolling and selecting.  The device uses as 3.2 inches capacitive touchscreen LCD.
  21. 21. iphone 5S : 2013  The iphone 5S includes major internal upgrades but maintains almost the external design as its predecessor.  A redesigned home button with Touch ID, a fingerprint recognition system which can be used to unlock the phone and authenticate App Store and iTunes store purchases.  The iphone 5S was the first apple device to ship with iOS 7.
  22. 22. Sony Xperia Z5 : 2015  It is the final smartphone in the Sony Xperia Z series.  Xperia Z5 also features a redesigned power button located on the right side of the device. It is also waterproof  The Xperia Z5 is preinstalled with Android 5.1 Lollipop .  It is the successor to the Sony Xperia Z3+ .
  23. 23. iphone 6S : 2015  Includes a 12-megapixel camera, improved fingerprint recognition sensor, and LTE Advanced support.  It introduces a new hardware feature known as "3D Touch", which enables pressure- sensitive touch inputs.  Runs on iOS 9.0
  24. 24. Samsung S7 Edge : 2016  It’s Display is curved along the wide sides of the screen.  Features an AMOLED 1400p Quad HD super AMOLED display with 5.1-inch Screen size.  Supports wireless charging.  Runs with Android 6.0.1 ‘’Marshmallow’’.
  25. 25. Samsung Galaxy J5 : 2016  It is fitted with a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED display.  This phone comes with Android 6.0.1. It supports 4G LTE with dual SIM enabled 4G. It also supports Samsung Knox.  The phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 chipset  Runs with Android 6.0.1 ‘’Marshmallow’’.
  26. 26. iphone 7S/7S plus : 2016  The iPhone 7’s overall design is similar to the iPhone 6S.  Introduces new color options, water and dust resistance, a new capacity and static home button.  There is An additional telephoto lens on the iPhone 7 plus to provide enhanced zoom capabilities.
  27. 27. LG G6 : 2017  It is an Android smartphone developed by LG Electronics.  It runs with Android 7.0 “Nougat” .  It comes with two variants: 4GB & 6GB.  It has mono speaker with 3.5 mm stereo audio jack.
