Any Media History Decades of service to the Winthrop and extended community Locations moved from a private home, to the Town Hall, to Little Star Montessori, to its current location intended to be temporary Largest circulation of any library in the NCRL system, and highest in the state for a like-sized community Identified thoroughly inadequate current space for current and projected population growth Any Media

Any Media The library is (or should be) the heart of a community Challenges Rural technology divide Crisis of rural isolation Compartmentalized community No opportunity for technology training and access No public space Recognized deficit in spaces to facilitate healthy aging in community Some valley children are without homes or safe places to study 30% of valley students do not have internet access for their homework Lack of available space and programming does not support students or adults

Any Media Managing our public space Fundraising will include a 4% building fund for major repairs Contract with North Central Regional Library will provide maintenance and cleaning for the facility based on square footage FoWL will work with the Town of Winthrop and NCRL to determine best management structure Any Media

Any Media High level timeline overview Site selection and purchase must occur before additional work can be accomplished Any Media Needs assessment 2017-2018 Programming study and recommendations- Fall 2018 Provides specific recommendations for the library based on community feedback and best practices Site selection and purchase Construction Schematic design approx 4 months Community Engagement and Charette Provides design, budget and timeline Design phase approx 6 months
